Theatre by the Lake, Keswick. March 12th - 16th 2025
STOP PRESS! Words by the Water Festival of Words and Ideas returns to Theatre by the Lake in 2025 and will be held for 5 days from Wednesday March 12th until Sunday March 16th.
We thought you might like to have a sneak preview of who might be appearing.....

We will have over 50 events...
Amongst those confirmed up to now are Ann Cleeves, James Rebanks and The Reverend Richard Coles ..... but there will also be many more great writers in Keswick in March!

Following a bit of a break the Words by the Water Festival of Words and Ideas did return to Theatre by the Lake on June 5th 2024 and events were held for five days in a festival led by Leah Varnell (ex Ways with Words) in partnership with Lucy and Gwenda Matthews, owners and directors of Bookends Keswick.
We extend our thanks and gratitude for all support for that festival - our audiences, authors, writers and performers, chairpeople, volunteer drivers, Bookends staff, Darren at Keirweb for creating a seamless website, Catherine at Appletrees, Ian at Crow Park Hotel, Pete at Ravenstone Lodge, the Merienda team and above all the magnificent efforts of all the team at Theatre by the Lake. Special thanks go to the co-President of Words by the Water, Marie-Elsa Bragg for her ongoing practical support.
