Marie-Elsa Bragg (Workshop 1)

Spirituality and Creative Writing

Words by the Water is delighted that festival president Rev Marie-Elsa Bragg will be returning to deliver an alternative version of the Spirituality and Creative Writing workshop which proved so popular at last year’s festival. Using lectures and private creative exercises she will explore monastic and literary methods that help us ‘get out of the way’ and follow what is often described as the river of creativity.

This workshop is suitable for writers of all levels of experience who wish to return to the source of creativity for the first draft of their next project.

There will be a 15 minute break during the workshop.

Rev Marie-Elsa Bragg is a priest in the Diocese of London and an author and broadcaster. Her first novel Towards Mellbreak is about Cumbrian hill farmers living in close relationship to nature; her second book Sleeping Letters is poetry and prose, about facing her mother’s suicide and contributed to Feminist Theologies.
